You've likely heard the age-old doctrine: adults should consume five to seven glasses of water per day. Even more likely, you probably struggle to hit that mark. It's all too easy to shun a glass of water and opt for a tasty, sugary beverage instead. But sugary drinks wreak havoc on your health, whereas water keeps you hydrated, helps maintain a healthy weight and even prevents headaches, fatigue and poor concentration. That's why water has to be our go-to when seeking proper hydration. So today, we're going to jazz up our water with a few creative infused water recipes to help you kick those sugary drinks to the curb!

Strawberries + Lime + Cucumbers: Simply slice a few fresh strawberries, lime and cucumbers then toss them in your water. Let them infuse for at least an hour before drinking.

Orange + Cucumbers: Oranges can be sliced or the juice can also be squeezed directly into the water. Add a few cucumber slices and you have the perfect drink combination.

Lemon + Mint: Mint gives every drink a little kick. Experiment with different citrus fruits such as lime or even oranges to give it that extra bit of flavor.

Blueberries + Raspberries + Mint: Berries can take a bit longer to infuse. So, to create these water combinations, let them sit overnight for a stronger taste.

Lemon + Strawberries + Basil: Lemon helps to draw out the taste of the basil while the strawberries tame it all down for the perfect combination.

Lemon + Raspberries + Blueberries: Using berries as your base, experiment with different stronger fruits such as lemon, lime, oranges, or even pineapple.

Strawberries + Cucumbers + Mint: Cucumbers and mint are a great combination. Toss in strawberries for a twist. Be sure to try out different berries to find the combo you love.

Orange + Blackberries + Strawberries: This fruity and refreshing drink is perfect for a hot summer day!

Lemon + Lime: An oldie but goodie, customize each fruit by adding the exact amount you prefer. Toss in a little mint if you'd like!

Pineapple + Mint: Pineapple has a very distinct taste, and you can add berries or herbs for a little twist. Mint and basil are an easy go-to but, many people enjoy cilantro and rosemary as well. Test it out and see what you think!

The combinations are endless and you can use any amount you'd like for the desired taste. Wash your fruit and herbs first, slice and prepare them, and then toss them in your water. It's usually best to let the water sit in the refrigerator for up to one hour before drinking just to get that fruity taste.

Try infusing your water bottle or keep a pitcher of infused water on hand to grab throughout the day. You can even toss some chopped fruit into ice cube trays with water; they'll infuse the water naturally as they melt in your drink . Plus, fruity ice cubes are adorable. Toss the fruit ice in a punch bowl of water and it's the perfect healthy alternative to punch at your next party. The possibilities are endless and the health benefits are fabulous!
