Directions

  1. In a bowl, color the frosting with the green and yellow food coloring. Start with the green food coloring and add yellow as needed until you achieve a nice, grassy shade of green.
  2. Arrange the cupcakes in four rows of six cupcakes, with the yellow cupcakes on one side and the chocolate cupcakes on the other side. These represent the two football teams.
  3. Frost the top of each cooled cupcake with a generous amount of frosting. Smooth the tops. Nestle a large marshmallow in the gaps between each cupcake as shown. Try not to leave any gaps between the cupcakes/marshmallows.
  4. Use green frosting to frost each marshmallow and the areas where the cupcakes meet. Fit your pastry bag with the grass tip and fill with green frosting. Pipe “grass” all over the surface of the football field.
  5. Use cookie icing to draw the lines of the football field. Start in the middle, as this makes it easier to make the field symmetrical. Mark the 50-yard line and any others you choose to include.
  6. Arrange the peanut M&Ms in a football team formation on each side of the football field. Place the brown “football” M&M in the center. Use 3 pop sticks to create each goal post. Glue 2 of them together as shown. Cut the third stick in half to create the shorter pieces of the goal post, attach with glue. (You can use white cardboard instead, if you prefer.) Enjoy!
