3 Appetizers for a Spooky Soiree

Try one of these easy Halloween themed appetizers like Ghoulish Fruit Kebabs or Little Pumpkin Rice Krispies to make your party extra spooky. Get the recipes!

1. Little Pumpkin Rice Krispies

Ingredients:

  • 3 tablespoons of butter
  • 5 cups mini-marshmallows
  • Red and yellow food coloring
  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 12–15 Tootsie Rolls
  • Green piping gel/frosting

To make these treats from Simple & Seasonal, start by melting 3 tablespoons of butter in a saucepan over medium to low heat. Stir in 5 cups of mini-marshmallows and add food coloring until the desired orange is reached. After butter and marshmallows are fully combined, remove from heat and slowly stir in the 6 cups of Rice Krispies until all the cereal is coated. Let the mixture cool, then roll into small balls. Press your thumb down into the middle to fit the tootsie roll "stem." Use the green piping gel or frosting to create vines and leaves. Make this easy Halloween recipe at your next spooky party!

2. Ghoulish Fruit Kebabs

Ingredients:

To create this treat, which was partially adapted from Katarina's Paperie, begin by cutting the cantaloupe into cubes and cutting the tops off the strawberries. Draw creepy faces on the marshmallows with the food color marker. Alternate marshmallows, strawberries, and cantaloupe on the kabob skewers. This is one of the most customizable Halloween appetizers recipes, as you can use any fruit you want for the kebabs, and have fun making the faces for the ghost marshmallows.

3. Witches Broomsticks

Ingredients:

  • Pretzel sticks
  • String cheese
  • Chives

This idea was borrowed from One Little Project. Begin by cutting the string cheese sticks into thirds. Gently push a pretzel stick into the end of a cheese stick piece. Spread the end of the string cheese so that it resembles the end of a broomstick. To finish, tie a thin chive around the top of the cheese. You can make so many of these in a short amount of time for a party with friends or family!
