We all know the classic BLT sandwich with bacon, lettuce, tomato and 2 slices of toast. It’s a childhood favorite that we continue to love as adults, too. After all, what’s not to love about a sandwich with bunch of bacon on it? It’s savory, crunchy and delicious! But, with a few additions, you can recreate this beloved classic. That’s right! Avocado, cheese and a fried egg really take the traditional BLT to the next level. We call it the Ultimate BLT Sandwich. And once you and your family taste it, you’ll see why. It’s packed with flavor and very filling, making it a great option for brunch, lunch or dinner.

  1. Cook all bacon slices over medium heat in a large sauté pan until very crispy (about 8 minutes). Remove from the pan and place onto a paper towel-lined plate. Allow the grease to drain and the bacon to cool slightly.

  2. Fry the egg in a hot nonstick skillet until the white is set and the yolk is cooked to your desired level of firmness

  3. Toast bread and spread an equal amount of mayonnaise onto the top side of each slice.
  4. Onto one slice, layer in this order: tomato slices, black pepper and sea salt, romaine, avocado, bacon and fried egg.

  5. Place the cheese on the other slice of bread. Gently sandwich the two halves together and serve.

    *Tip: Want to avoid the mess of cooking bacon on the stove? You can either cook it in a cast iron skillet over your charcoal grill or bake it in the oven on a cookie sheet at 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
