Cooking for the holidays or a special gathering doesn’t have to mean throwing your budget out the window. This clever, cost-saving recipe for a show-stopping smoked ham calls on pantry ingredients like dried spices and canned pineapple juice for robust flavors. Using your trusty slow cooker also means more space in the oven for sides! Directions

  1. Whisk the brown sugar, coriander, cinnamon, pepper, allspice and ginger in a small bowl until combined. Rub the spice mixture evenly over the ham and between each slice. Add pineapple juice to a 6 quart slow cooker. Place the ham in the slow cooker.
  2. Cover and cook on high for 4 hours, or on low for 6 hours, until a meat thermometer reads 145°F.
  3. Slice and serve.

Recipe Tip: Make this in the oven! Preheat the oven to 350°F. Place the spice-rubbed ham on a rack in a roasting pan. Bake the ham, basting every 15 minutes with the pineapple juice, until a meat thermometer reads 145°F, about 1 hour 20 minutes (10 minutes per pound).
