These affordable and adorable jalapeno mummies are scary good at saving you money! With less than 10 low-cost ingredients, several of which you probably already have on-hand, this after trick-or-treating snack won’t make your grocery budget disappear.

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Mix the cream cheese, shredded cheese, bacon and onion powder in a medium bowl. Fill the jalapeno halves with the mixture.
  3. Unroll the crescent dough. Separate into four rectangles and pinch together the seams of the triangles. Using a pizza cutter or sharp knife, cut each rectangle lengthwise into 10 strips.
  4. Wrap 2 or 3 strips of dough around each jalapeno halve leaving room for two eyes. Arrange on the prepared baking sheet leaving 2 inches between each jalapeno.
  5. Whisk together the egg and water to make an egg wash. Brush each jalapeno mummy with the egg wash. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from the oven and add the black olives for the eyes. Serve immediately.”

Recipe Tip: Prep these jalapeno mummies up to a day in advance. Cover, refrigerate and bake just before serving.
