Have even more fun with grilling this summer with this sangria filled with a variety of grilled fruit for a drink recipe that is easy to prepare and is absolutely delicious.
Ingredients
Directions
-
Prepare all your fruit for grilling.
-
Sugaring the fruit is optional; it helps it to caramelize during grilling, but increases the potential to burn, so be vigilant. If you decide to sugar the fruit, place 1 cup sugar in a bowl and dip each piece of fruit in the sugar.
-
Pre-oil your grill and pre-heat to medium-high heat. You can choose to grill using wooden skewers.
-
You can also grill them directly on the grill (this method results in better grill marks). The fruits take about 5 to 8 minutes; turn them once while grilling and keep an eye on them. Different fruits grill at different rates. Let the fruit cool.
-
To your serving pitcher or bowl, add the brandy, the red wine, the simple syrup, and the lemon-lime soda. Stir lightly.
-
Add the grilled fruit and the cinnamon sticks. Add the white wine. (Test the flavor—if it isn't sweet enough, add a little more simple syrup.)
-
You can also top off each glass with a bit of white wine when serving (for the bubbles).
