You will be the family favorite at the holiday's if you bring this casserole. It's creamy and totally homemade, not using any canned cream-of-anything soup.

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, sauté the onions in the butter and brown sugar until caramelized.
  2. Grease the bottom and sides of a 9x9-inch glass baking dish.
  3. To the cooked beans, add the cream, salt, pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder, then mix until all ingredients are evenly coated.
  4. Transfer the beans to the glass dish, then add the onions and the cheese; mix lightly.
  5. Bake in a 350-degree oven for approximately 45 minutes. Carefully stir once or twice during the baking process.
