Homemade gravy is a great way to make your holiday meal budget go further. All you need are the drippings from your turkey, plus a few other items you probably already have on-hand to create the perfect gravy to drizzle all over your mashed potatoes and stuffing (or dressing) too, right? This Sage Turkey Gravy is a tried-and-true recipe that’s quick to make and easy on the wallet, too.
Ingredients
Directions
- Strain 2 cups of the turkey pan drippings through a fine mesh strainer.
- Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Add the garlic and sauté for 1 minute, stirring frequently. Add the flour and whisk for 1 minute until lightly browned. Pour in the pan drippings and whisk until combined.
- Bring the mixture to a boil. Reduce the heat to a simmer and cook, whisking frequently, 5-10 minutes until thickened. Remove from the heat.
- Add the sage, salt and pepper and whisk to combine.
Recipe Tip: If turkey pan drippings are less than two cups, use chicken broth to make up the difference
