Crunchy Peanut Butter Bites

Dogs just can't seem to get enough peanut butter. These peanut butter dog treats have just four ingredients, and are ready to enjoy in less than 30 minutes.

Ingredients:

·         2 cups whole wheat flour

·         2 large eggs

·         1/4 cup water (more or less as needed)

·         1/2 cup creamy peanut butter

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or coat with a thin layer of cooking spray.

2. Mix the flour, eggs, and peanut butter together in a large bowl until they are slightly combined.

3. Add water a tablespoon at a time and stir until a dough forms. Avoid making the mixture too wet, so that you can roll it out on the counter.

4. Roll the dough to about 1/4-inch thickness. Us a dog bone-shaped (or other favorite shape) cookie cutter to make each biscuit.

5. Place the biscuits on the cookie sheet, making sure they don't touch.

6. Bake for 20 minutes.

If you don't have cookie cutters, you can use a knife to cut out fun shapes, or just make small squares. For larger dog breeds, add a bit of texture to these treats by using crunchy peanut butter. Opt for creamy peanut butter for puppies and small dog breeds.

Breath Fresheners

Dogs aren't known for having clean, fresh breath. These breath-freshening treats combat bad breath using all-natural ingredients. As a bonus, they don't contain flour, so your dog can enjoy them even if it has a wheat sensitivity.

Ingredients:

·         1/2 cup finely chopped fresh mint leaves

·         1/2 cup finely chopped fresh parsley

·         1 large egg

·         3 tablespoons coconut oil (solid)

·         2 1/2 cups rolled oats

·         1/4 cup plus 1 teaspoon water

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper, or coat with a thin layer of cooking spray.

2. In a large bowl, whisk together mint, parsley, egg, water, and oil.

3. Pulse the rolled oats in a blender or food processor until they have a flour-like consistency. Add to the bowl with the other ingredients.

4. Coat the counter with a bit of oil or cooking spray. (If you're not worried about wheat, you can dust the counter with a bit of flour.) Knead the dough a few times and then roll out to 1/8-inch thick.

5. Use a cookie cutter or knife to make small 1-inch treats.

6. Space the mints 1/4-inch apart on the cookie sheet. Bake for 35-40 minutes.

Allow treats from both dog treat recipes to cool completely before offering them to your pooch. Store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator. They'll remain fresh for up to one week.
