Grilled Berry S’mores

Grilled Berry S’mores

Graham crackers, gooey roasted marshmallows and rich chocolate - what can possibly make this classic campfire dessert better? How about a version perfect for Memorial Day (and the 4th of July too)? This red, white and blue recipe is a slight twist on s’mores with the addition of strawberries and blueberries.

To make these Grilled Berry S'mores, you’ll need wooden skewers, your grill and the five ingredients we listed above. Start by putting marshmallows, strawberries and blueberries on the skewers. Grill the skewers on medium heat until the marshmallows are lightly toasted, which should take about 3 to 4 minutes. Then, it’s time to assemble the s’mores and enjoy!

Coconut Water & Berry Red, White & Blue Popsicles

If you love strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and coconut water, this frozen red, white and blue recipe is one you should definitely try! Besides being refreshing, sweet and fruity, these popsicles are also made using the four ingredients we just listed. That’s it! So, they’re very low-cost to make too.

And if you’re looking for a family-friendly activity for Memorial Day, get the kids involved in making the popsicles with your own popsicle mold. Or, if you don’t have a mold, use an ice cube tray with wooden popsicle sticks or skewers (cut in half). Then, once frozen, enjoy your Coconut Water & Berry Red, White & Blue Popsicles together.

Watermelon & Blueberry Sparklers

Watermelon & Blueberry Sparklers

Part recipe, part family fun activity, this festive recipe is very simple to make and only requires two ingredients, plus wooden skewers - blueberries and watermelon. And as you can see from the photo, the watermelon is cut into little stars. What’s the best way to cut shapes into melon? A star-shaped cookie cutter works well or you can simply free-hand with a knife.

The cookie cutter option is safer for the kiddos, but if you are cutting the watermelon with a knife, just handle that part first and then let them assemble their sparklers. Start with the blueberries, then top off with a watermelon star.
